The Alex Flores SentTell Scholarship (2017)
Area of focus: Film Education
This SentTell Scholarship was established in honor of Alex Flores, renowned Hollywood editor at AV Squad. Alex, a Redlands East Valley High School alumni graciously donated $1,000 to help a first-generation college bound student who is pursuing a career in filmmaking. Students who are interested in broadcasting or filmmaking are encouraged to apply.
Application Criteria
- Must be a current member (in good standing) in the AVID program for at least one full year
- Must attend a four-year accredited university upon high school graduation
- Must be a prospective first-generation college student
Essay (Video)
Instead of submitting an essay, applicants will be required to film their essays, documentary style, and submit a video no longer than 3 minutes. Share a personal statement including your background (work and personal). Let us know why you’re interested in pursuing a career in film/television. What inspired your decision to pursue this career? Was it a certain movie or director? Was it a friend, family member, or teacher? Let us know what school you’d like to attend and what film/television career you’d like to pursue.
