SentTell Scholarship
The Jack Broadbent SentTell Scholarship (2017)
Area of focus: Environment
This SentTell Scholarship was established in honor of Jack P. Broadbent, the Chief Executive Officer at the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. Students who are looking to pursue a career in environmentalism are encouraged to apply.
Application Criteria
- Must be a current member (in good standing) in the AVID program for at least one full year
- Must have taken at least one Advanced Placement (AP) course in either Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
- Must attend a four-year accredited university upon high school graduation
- Must be a prospective first-generation college student
- Plans to pursue a career in environmentalism
- Must complete the REV Scholarship Packet with attached essay
Essay (600-800 words)
Explain why you want to pursue a career in environmentalism. What influences or experiences in your life have contributed to this decision? What makes you a good candidate for this scholarship? Community service is also highly encouraged, so please include any volunteer work related to this field of study.
